About Us
Welcome to Loverly! I am a former journalist and news editor. I used to work at some of the world's largest media companies. Loverly is a labor of love(rly) for me! I love fashion and entertainment, and I live in New York, so I'll frequently post about things I like, plus occasions when I get away from my computer and spend time in the city, or work on finding a new home.
Sometimes I'll also get a bit more serious and talk about issues that I've encountered in my life. I've climbed corporate ladders, and I also know what it's like to lose the people you love the most. I'll tell you about these things over time, in hope that my experiences might help at least some of you to get through similar situations, or even avoid them.
But first I'll tell you a bit about Loverly. I'm a classic movie buff and Audrey Hepburn is my favorite actress. So I modeled "Liv," our logo in the little black dress, after Ms. Hepburn's famous dresses from "Breakfast At Tiffany's." By coincidence, she also starred in the movie musical "My Fair Lady," which features the song "Wouldn't It Be Loverly." So there you have it!
"My Fair Lady" is about personal transformation, and that's also a subject I'll be covering. It is possible to improve your circumstances by changing the way you present yourself to the world. I'm all about self-actualization -- becoming what you want to be, and getting what you want out of life. But sometimes you can do all the right things and you still won't get the results you want. I'll be addressing that through our blog, and I hope it will be useful to you.
As for fashion, every woman has issues, including me. No matter what your fashion issues are, I would love to hear your own stories about how you tackled problems in your life, work, appearance, and more. Let's start a loverly conversation, and see where it leads.
Thanks for reading, and please visit our blog for more information!
Best wishes,
